Our annual Matchmaker of the Year awards took place at our recent Head Office Conference, it is always a fiercely run competition with real desire to be recognised by what is now the largest matchmaking team in the country, with several of our matchmaking team in contention to win it right up to the day of the conference.
To ensure it truly reflected the skill of bringing clients together, this year we based the competition solely on that criteria and the winner simply outran her colleagues by matching more people, more successfully, as measured for each month of 2019 and we are delighted to report that this year the very worthy winner of an extremely hard fought contest was Kerry Weston, who held off Karen Hyde, with Karen finishing as runner up.
Kerry was presented with champagne and a huge bouquet by Matchmaking Team Manager Lyn Nicholls, who said “I would like to say that Kerry and Karen are both valued members of a very good team and their continuous hard work to make dreams come true has been truly recognised.”
Matchmaker of the Year Kerry said when interviewed “It is privilege to work with clients and help them to find a special partner and ultimately love. I feel so lucky to work with such a great team of matchmakers and it is a real honour to be recognised as Matchmaker of the Year for something that I feel very passionate about.”Karen Hyde, our runner up added to Kerry’s statement by saying “I care about my clients and am proud that my results prove that my hard work and commitment to them has paid off. It is also lovely to work somewhere, that I have been recognised and valued.”
Mike Parker, Managing Director of Dating Options added “It was a great competition in 2019 when every matchmaker really wanted to take this award, particularly as it was based on hard evidence of the number of matches achieved, rather than a vote, as this was deemed fairer by the whole team. In recent years we have increased the number of matchmakers year on year as more and more people have been fighting shy of online dating and coming to us at Ultimate Attraction and our sister companies, where they can feel so much safer, working with knowledgable matchmakers such as Kerry, Karen and Lyn.
Online dating related crime is one of the fastest growing crime categories in the UK and therefore the job that these ladies do in keeping Ultimate Attraction clients safe, is something that cannot be underestimated. I truly appreciate their commitment to safer dating and helping to make peoples dreams come true.”
Mike added “I would like to see these awards expanded in 2020 to include all member companies of the DAA and ABIA, so that they are appreciated by an audience that is far greater. We hope that this idea is taken up by both industry bodies as it can only be good for the dating industry, not just Ultimate Attraction and our sister companies”.
