We all know that dating is one of those areas that can cause a lot of anxiety and nerves, and this is even more relevant for people who are going on a first date. First dates are one of those things that are exciting but nervous at the same time.
If you have been out of the dating game for a while then your nerves will be worse than someone who hasn’t been. Maybe you are someone who has recently been divorced or gotten out of a long-term relationship, and it’s been a long time since you experienced a first date.
Well, like anything, first dates also have some simple rules you should follow. There are some important things in particular you should avoid if you want to have a first date that is an amazing experience. Avoid these first date pitfalls and you’ll be fine.
For ladies – dressing too provocatively – When you are going on a first date don’t wear something overly provocative. Remember, the whole point of a first date is to see if there is a connection and chemistry. Focus on this first rather than sending any sexually charged messages. Save this kind of thing for future dates when you both know each other well.
For men – take pride in your appearance – Women love a man who knows how to dress well. This doesn’t mean being over the top and wearing a suit to a bar for a couple of drinks (unless it’s that kind of bar of course). It means using some fashion common sense. It is one thing to be casual and another to be too casual. At least wear a nice pair of jeans, shirt, and nice pair of shoes. You’ll go a long way toward impressing her and she will notice, even if she doesn’t say so.
These are some very simple and important first date tips for both men and women. If you avoid making these mistakes then you’ll go a long way toward impressing your date and having an amazing time.
